Rubber sheets used primarily in industry must possess a range of properties that will ensure the safety of employees, the workplace, and the tools used during work. The most important advantages of using rubber sheets include above all resistance to weather conditions, oils and acids. Since acids are commonly used in various branches of industry, their harmful effects on the environment must be taken into account. For this reason, acid-resistant rubber sheets were created. What are they? What are they made of? What are their applications?

What are acid-resistant rubber sheets?

Acid-resistant rubber sheets are mats usually in the form of rolls of various thicknesses that can be cut to the customer's dimensions. Our sheets are cut on plotters specially designed for this purpose, which allows precise cutting to the size specified by the customer. The rubber sheets are made of the highest quality material.

What are acid-resistant rubber sheets made of?

Because there are many types of rubbers/elastomers, each of them has different properties and resistance to various factors. The most popular are sheets made of general-purpose rubber (SBR), general-purpose sheets with increased resistance to oils and greases (NBR sheets) and EPDM rubber sheets, resistant to weather conditions (including ozone and UV radiation) and to acids. The expansion of the acronym EPDM is ethylene propylene diene monomer, meaning a terpolymer elastomer crosslinked by sulfur or peroxide vulcanization. Sheets made of the highest quality EPDM rubber guarantee resistance to weather conditions and acids, which is particularly valued in many industries, primarily in the chemical industry, but also in the automotive industry.

The chemical resistance of rubber sheets depends on the type of compound used and the operating conditions. A properly selected material can provide high chemical resistance and limit the impact of aggressive substances on the surface.

Where are EPDM rubber sheets used?

Top-quality rubber sheets resistant to weather conditions and various types of acids are used primarily in various chemical plants, where they most often come into contact with acids. Gaskets and various rubber elements resistant to the influence of the external environment are made from them, and the use of full EPDM sheets can serve as anti-slip mats. Another benefit of using EPDM sheets is their high abrasion resistance, which is why they are often used as rubber pads in cars.

Acid-resistant rubber sheets - characteristics

EPDM rubber sheets, in addition to being resistant to acids and weather conditions, must possess a number of other features that will ensure the safety of their use. Due to the highest quality of the material characterizing the EPDM rubber sheets available in our offer, they have a high tolerance for elongation at break, and the brittleness temperature at which the sheets degrade is high.

Acid-resistant rubber sheets - parameters

We offer you a wide range of thicknesses of our EPDM rubber sheets. They can be obtained in sizes of 1 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm, 30 mm, 35 mm, 40 mm, 45 mm, 50 mm, 55 mm, 60 mm, 70 mm, 80 mm. EPDM rubber sheets resistant to weather conditions and various types of acids can be cut to the exact dimensions provided by the customer; please contact us to determine the appropriate parameters. EPDM rubber sheets are characterized by a wide range of hardness on the Shore A scale. The standard hardness of the sheets ranges from 40 to 80 Shore A.
