Hard-burning rubber plate
Flame-retardant rubber sheet is characterized by high resistance to the effects of high temperatures. For this reason it is recommended for use in plants and workshops where heat sources that could damage rubber sheets of lesser durability are used. Flame-retardant rubber sheets are intended for general use, made of styrene-butadiene rubber, and their designation is SBR.
This material is resistant to abrasion and wear, which is why rubber sheets are distinguished by high durability. Products made from this type of compound have high resistance to hazardous thermal conditions. Flame-retardant rubber sheet also has a number of other properties useful in demanding working conditions. Workshops, production halls and all industrial plants — everywhere flame-retardant sheets, in sheets or on a roll, should be widely used. To purchase flame-retardant sheets, please contact us.
Flame-retardant rubber sheet - properties
The specific features that distinguish the flame-retardant rubber sheet make it suitable for use in places characterized by factors harmful to the environment. At the same time, rubber sheets are available in many variants, so you can choose products tailored to different needs. Flame-retardant rubber sheets are available in several sizes and thicknesses. The thicker the rubber sheet, the greater the abrasion resistance. You can choose, among others, thicknesses:
- 1
- 2
- 3
- 4
- 5
- 6
- 8
- 10
- 12
- 15
- 20
- 25
- 30 mm
- and even 50 mm.
The roll width is, for example, 1.2 m or 1.4 m, and the length is usually from 5 to 10 m. Dimensions and sheet thickness can be selected for a specific application. They are available in various widths and lengths in our shop. Sheets can be purchased in sheets or wound on rolls; it is also possible to cut the sheet to the exact dimension provided by the customer.
The material from which flame-retardant rubber sheets are made is produced from rubber compounds that affect its fire resistance. Thanks to this, the flame-retardant rubber sheet is much more heat-resistant than a regular SBR sheet for general use. Moreover, these sheets are known for their hardness, which prevents them from being quickly destroyed. They can be additionally reinforced with interlayers; one or two interlayers are used. Significant resistance to high temperatures means that the flame-retardant rubber sheet can be exposed to short-term direct contact with fire.

Temperature range for flame-retardant sheets
The temperature range in which a flame-retardant rubber sheet will perform is from -30°C to 70°C. Although high insulating parameters are the main advantage of the flame-retardant sheet, it also has other desirable features. Rubber sheets are not only flame-retardant, but also resistant to abrasion and mechanical damage, which makes their application broad.
Furthermore, they are resistant to loads, so they can be used as a base under heavy machines. They also have anti-slip and damping properties, which protect people working in workshops from slipping and partially reduce the noise generated by operating machines. Flame-retardant rubber sheets are produced in accordance with applicable standards and are also adapted to BHP regulations.
When choosing a flame-retardant sheet, it is worth considering not only the operating temperature but also the mechanical load, required thickness and the conditions present at the place of application. This allows you to select the material appropriate for a specific machine, workstation or surface.

Flame-retardant rubber sheet - applications
In facilities where high temperatures prevail or contact with fire is possible, it is recommended to use rubber sheets that are flame-retardant. Such places include, for example, welding shops, steelworks, refineries or mines. Sheets are also useful in the chemical and processing industries, as well as in workshops and service centers. Rubber sheets can be placed on benches where work is carried out or placed under machines that are a source of heat. The aim is to protect the workplace from mechanical damage and to protect the substrate from the destructive effects of high temperature.
Products such as flame-retardant rubber sheets can also be successfully used for gasket production due to their flexibility and resistance to moisture. This type of sheet is often used in mining plants and excavations where there is a risk of methane or coal dust explosion. They are used as pads, machine linings, room and chute linings and wherever a flame-retardant and antistatic material is needed. For tasks that involve direct contact with fire or another heat source, special attention should be paid to the quality and durability of the products used.
The use of sheets made from flame-retardant compounds increases worker safety, protecting them from easy ignition and fire outbreak. For this reason, the flame-retardant sheet should be standard equipment in plants where fire or other high-heat sources are used. In addition to being flame-retardant, rubber sheets are also characterized by high hardness, which gives them significant abrasion resistance. Rubbers are easy to clean, so maintaining cleanliness in the workplace is not a problem. These properties make the work easier and more comfortable, and employees can be more efficient.
Sheets not only protect the workplace from damage but also increase the safety of the people working there. Rubber sheets can be purchased in the form of sheets or an entire roll of SBR rubber; it is also possible to cut the sheet to a specific dimension tailored to a machine or surface. To order a sheet in the selected size, you should contact the company offering the sheet cutting service. The outer side of the roll is smooth; typically products such as a rubber sheet are produced in black.
