What is FFKM?

FFKM (Kalrez®) is a perfluoroelastomer that combines excellent chemical resistance with a wide temperature range (-55 °C to +330 °C). It is used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, semiconductor, and aerospace industries.

FFKM vs. FKM - differences, properties, and application of fluorine seals

FKM (Viton®) and FFKM (Perfluoroelastomer) seals differ in chemical composition and resistance. FKM contains fluorinated rubbers with high resistance to oils, fuels, and temperatures up to about 200-230°C. FFKM, due to the full fluorination of the polymer chain, withstands extreme conditions - temperatures up to 320°C and contact with aggressive chemicals, acids, and solvents. FFKM seals are used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and aerospace industries, while FKM is used in automotive, hydraulic, and technical equipment.

FFKM contains more fluorine than FKM, providing better chemical resistance and a wider temperature range (up to 330 °C).

Kalrez® 6375 - hardness 75 ShA, resistant to acids, bases, steam, up to 275 °C.
Kalrez® 7075 - higher sealing force, low permanent deformation, up to 327 °C.
Kalrez® 4079 - up to 316 °C, hardness 75 ShA, low swelling, industrial and aerospace processes.

Spectrum™ Types

6380 - hardness 80 ShA, resistance to amines and strong oxidizers, up to 225 °C.
7090 - hardness 90 ShA, extrusion resistance, thermal resistance up to 325 °C.

Industrial Types

0090 - 90 ShA, NORSOK M-710 certified, up to 250 °C in oil/gas conditions.
0040 - range from -42 °C to +220 °C, low-temperature.
1050LF - steam, water, and amine resistance, up to 288 °C.
1058 - ideal for valves and pipes, up to 260 °C.
3018 - hardness 91 ShA, steam resistance up to 220 °C.
2035 and 2037 - low swelling in acids/esters, up to ~220 °C, semiconductors and pharmaceuticals.
