EPDM – modern rubber for special applications

EPDM (ethylene, propylene and diene copolymer) is a popular type of technical rubber, produced by peroxide or sulfur vulcanization. It is characterized by very high elasticity and excellent mechanical properties – it quickly returns to its original shape after deformation. EPDM Sheets do not crack, have high tensile resistance and feature long service life. The operating temperature range is from -30°C to +150°C. EPDM is resistant to atmospheric factors.

Excellent for outdoor applications

EPDM sheets are ideal as rubber components for outdoor use. They can serve as anti-slip pads, and thanks to high resistance to acids and weather conditions they are excellent as worktop coverings. The sheets are produced in accordance with health and safety regulations, easy to clean and resistant to soiling. After years of outdoor use they do not deform or crumble.

They are widely used in agriculture, fruit-growing and forestry – as bases under silos, bedding mats or silage mats. They are also used as insulating membranes to protect roofs and joists on terraces. In gardening they are used as rubber underlays between plants, in nurseries and greenhouses. They also work well as partitions separating flower beds from the lawn. They often serve as temporary surface reinforcement – e.g. on driveways and construction sites, as temporary rubber roads.

EPDM sheets maintain good dimensional stability during long-term outdoor use. They are also characterized by high abrasion resistance, which makes them suitable for places exposed to intensive use.

EPDM for playgrounds – Warsaw

Rubber sheets for playgrounds are produced in a two-layer version: the lower layer (shock-absorbing) is made of SBR granulate, while the upper is made of colored EPDM granulate. The use of EPDM significantly increases resistance to UV radiation and weather conditions compared to SBR sheets alone. A major advantage is mass coloring – abrasion does not affect the color quality.

The sheets are available in various thicknesses and widths – suitable for both small and large playgrounds. Personal collection is possible in Pruszków at ul. Domaniewska 5A (near the S8/A2 exit to Warsaw).

How to lay rubber sheets?

The substrate should be stabilized and compacted – e.g. concrete, asphalt concrete or a specially prepared layer of mineral aggregate. The sheets are permeable to water, so puddles do not form after rain.
