What is a 2.2 certificate?
Certificate 2.2 is a document issued by the manufacturer (producer). It constitutes a declaration that contains all information regarding the conformity of the product with the requirements set by the customer when placing the order. Inspection documents are a guarantee of the highest quality, which additionally contain the results of tests carried out during nonspecific inspection. It guarantees that the received products comply with the order and with applicable regulations and standards according to the PN-EN10204 standard.
Who issues the declaration of conformity?
According to the PN-EN 10204 standard, the declaration of conformity is issued by an intermediary or a subcontractor. The certificate must be accompanied by the manufacturer's complete documentation without making any changes. In accordance with EN 10204, all changes made by an intermediary or subcontractor should be confirmed by an appropriate document confirming the new characteristics of the product. The required documents should be signed by an authorized representative responsible for its confirmation. The delivered products should comply with the customer's order.
Can the 2.2 declaration be rewritten?
It is not permissible for the document to be rewritten onto one's own company letterhead. According to EN 10204, copying the declaration or possibly changing the quantity of products ordered by the customer is allowed. When issuing the declaration of conformity, companies are obliged to hand over the original or a copy of the inspection documents to the ordering party.
How does certificate 2.1 differ?
According to the European standard 10204, it is not required that the manufacturer present test results to the customer in the documentation for certificate 2.1. The representative fulfills the customer's order without providing the test results, adding the declaration of conformity, i.e., document 2.1.
Acceptance certificate according to EN 10204
Certificate 3.1 is an acceptance certificate in which the manufacturer (producer) presents documents to the customer stating that the delivered products comply with the previously agreed requirements. Additionally, he attaches the appropriate results of acceptance inspection tests (chemical composition, strength tests) to the documents. Guidelines on how the tests should be performed are specified, among others, in official regulations. According to the EN 10204 standard, the manufacturer (producer) is obliged to hand over the full set of inspection documents to the customer, without the possibility of rewriting them onto company letterhead. The 3.1 certificate is issued for a fee. It contains complete information regarding mechanical parameters and chemical composition.
More information about the types of inspection documents and the requirements of the standard can be found in the study of the EN 10204 standard.
