KLINGER® GRAPHITE LAMINATE PSM

KLINGER® GRAPHITE LAMINATE PSM is a high-performance graphite sealing with perforated stainless steel insert, providing excellent sealing and mechanical resistance. The material is free from adhesives, resins, and impregnations, eliminating the risk of toxicity and ensuring stable properties across the full range of operating temperatures.

Material

  • expanded graphite with purity ≥ 99%
  • perforated insert of stainless steel 1.4401 (or optionally 1.4404)
  • no resins, adhesives, and impregnations

Applications

  • sealing at high temperatures and pressures
  • hot water and steam up to 450°C
  • chemicals and process media in chemical, petrochemical, and energy industries

Physical Parameters

  • density of graphite layer: 1.0 g/cm³
  • chloride content: ≤ 40 ppm
  • leakage rate (DIN 28090-2): < 0.06 mg/s x m
  • compressibility (ASTM F 36 A): 40 - 50%
  • recovery (ASTM F 36 A): 10 - 15%
  • residual stresses (DIN 52913, 16 h / 50 MPa / 300°C): ≥ 45 MPa

Thermal Resistance

  • continuous operating temperature: 350°C
  • thickness loss at 23°C: 42 - 48%
  • thickness loss at 300°C: 2 - 4%
  • thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) according to DIN 28090-2: < 4 %/h at 670°C

Dimensions and Tolerances

  • standard sheet sizes: 1000 x 1000 mm, 2000 x 1000 mm, 1500 x 1500 mm
  • available thicknesses: 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm, 3.0 mm
  • thickness tolerance: ±5%
  • length and width tolerance: ±4 mm
