Due to its properties, polyamide finds applications in the automotive and transportation markets. It is used in electrical and electronic applications. Nylon is a thermoplastic material with the ability to absorb moisture. Water absorption is possible due to amide bonds, which also affect the material's mechanical resistance and flexibility.

Types of Polymers

There are two types of polymers: polyamide 6 (PA 6 - extruded polyamide) and polyamide 6.6 (PA 66). These are the two most commonly used polyamides in the world.

Polyamide PA6 and 6.6 differ in their chemical structure.

PA6 consists of one monomer, which has 6 carbon atoms.

PA66 is composed of two molecules, each with 6 carbon atoms.

Extruded polyamide PA6-e is less crystalline, has a higher tendency to absorb water, and also performs better in contact with hydrocarbons than PA 66.

Polyamide fibers belong to the group of synthetic fibers. They are manufactured from polyamides, which give them high strength and durability. They also have a tendency to absorb water. Poliamid PA6-e natur is a semi-crystalline material with a natural color. Extruded polyamide PA6-e natur has high hygroscopicity, high thermal resistance, and good sliding properties. Polyamide PA6-e natur is most commonly used in the industry.

Poliamid PA6-g

Poliamid PA6-g is cast and unmodified. It has high thermal resistance. It is used in industries such as automotive and transportation, electrical engineering, and in the production of machine parts (bushings, gears, sealing rings).
