Viton® gaskets

Viton® seals are elements made of fluoroelastomer FKM, intended for operation in environments requiring high chemical and temperature resistance. They remain stable in contact with oils, fuels, solvents and aggressive media. Used in industrial installations, hydraulics, pneumatics and high-temperature systems, they guarantee long-lasting tightness and low susceptibility to aging.

What are Viton® seals?

These are seals made of FKM fluoroelastomer, designed for operation in high-temperature conditions and in contact with aggressive media.

What temperatures can Viton® seals withstand?

The standard operating range is from –20°C to approx. 200–220°C, depending on the material grade.

For which media are Viton® seals suitable?

They are resistant to mineral oils, fuels, lubricants, aromatic solvents, ozone, weathering, and most industrial chemicals.

Where are Viton® seals used?

In fuel systems, hydraulic systems, compressors, pumps, chemical installations and wherever high resistance parameters are required.

How do Viton® seals differ from NBR seals?

Viton® offers significantly higher chemical and temperature resistance. NBR performs well in standard oil applications, whereas Viton is the choice for demanding environments.

Are Viton® seals resistant to steam?

To a limited extent. Prolonged exposure to hot steam may reduce the durability of the material — in such applications EPDM elastomers perform better.

Is Viton® suitable for contact with food?

Only in versions certified in accordance with FDA standards. Standard Viton® is not intended for food applications.
