X-ring

X-ring is a sealing ring with a four-lip cross-section, used in applications where higher wear resistance and better sealing performance are required compared to standard O-rings. Due to its X-shaped design, the X-ring minimizes friction and the risk of twisting in the groove, leading to a longer seal life. It is used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, both in reciprocating and rotary motions. Ideal for applications that demand high durability.

X-ring Seal OX Type

The X-ring seal OX type is a technically advanced sealing solution designed for both dynamic and static connections. Its distinctive four-lip geometry ensures effective, clamping sealing in hydraulic, pneumatic, and other machinery and equipment applications. The rounded corners of the profile promote even distribution of surface and circumferential stresses, significantly enhancing the element's durability and resistance to deformation.

OX rings are suitable for high-pressure environments (up to 40 MPa in static and reciprocating motion) and moderate rotary speeds (up to 0.2 m/s). They can operate across a broad temperature range – depending on the material used, from -50°C to as high as +250°C.

They are available in three main material variants:

  • NBR (nitrile rubber) – resistant to oils, greases, fuels, water up to 60°C, and diluted acids and bases. Temperature range: -30°C to +100°C.

  • FPM/FKM (fluoroelastomer) – recommended for working with fuels, synthetic oils, chemicals, and in conditions of elevated temperature and UV radiation. Range: -20°C to +250°C.

  • EPDM – ideal for contact with hot water, steam, brake fluids, detergent solutions, and chemicals. Range: -50°C to +130°C.

OX type rings offer a reliable solution for applications requiring high sealing performance, low friction, and resistance to demanding operating conditions. They are particularly recommended for systems operating in challenging environments where traditional O-rings may not provide sufficient sealing effectiveness.
