Fuel and Oil Hoses - Properties

Rubber hose for fuel and oils is used in the automotive industry (tractor and excavator engines, power generators, low-pressure fuel pumps, automotive installations) and in industry. It is designed for transferring gasoline, diesel oils, mineral oils, industrial fluids based on petroleum. Rubber fuel hose also suits household or workshop use. It belongs to low-pressure hoses.

Properties

Fuel hoses are resistant to temperature, increased internal pressure, adverse weather conditions, abrasion, bending. They are most commonly made of butadiene-nitrile rubber (NBR).

Rubber oil and fuel hoses are flexible, bendable, and relatively lightweight. Additionally, they have reinforcement with braiding. A rubber oil hose with textile reinforcement is commonly referred to as a "canvas hose." Check out the other properties of a rubber oil hose:

  • Abrasion resistance (providing longer life)
  • UV and ozone resistance
  • Resistance to penetration
  • Resistance to the action of oil, fuel
  • Reinforced with braiding
  • Extraordinary durability
  • High-temperature resistance
  • Does not lose its properties even after prolonged use
  • Has antistatic properties

Thanks to its properties, fuel hoses are used in passenger cars, delivery vehicles, trucks, construction vehicles (excavators, bulldozers), boats. A rubber hose for gas, used e.g., in gas installations, is also available on the market.

Application of hoses for fuels and oils

Fuel and oil hoses are essential components of installations transporting petroleum substances, used in fuel stations, automotive, agricultural, and logistics industries. They must be characterized by high resistance to gasoline, diesel fuel, biodiesel, and lubricants. Key parameters include flexibility, resistance to temperature changes (-30°C to +80°C), and mechanical strength, especially against wear and working pressure. Depending on the application, rubber hoses, reinforced with steel braid, or made of composite materials such as NBR are used. Antistatic hoses prevent the accumulation of electrostatic charges, minimizing the risk of ignition.

Benefits of using hoses for fuels and oils

Fuel and oil hoses ensure safe and efficient transportation of petroleum substances, minimizing the risk of leaks and fuel losses. Their chemical resistance to gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, and greases prevents material degradation, extending the lifespan of the installation. High flexibility allows for easy maneuvering in hard-to-reach areas, while reinforcements such as steel braid increase resistance to pressure and mechanical damage. Antistatic models eliminate the risk of sparking, protecting against ignition. Hoses resistant to fluctuating temperatures (-30°C to +80°C) are suitable for demanding industrial conditions, ensuring reliable operation and operational safety.
