What is technical petroleum jelly?

Technical vaseline is a corrosion-resistant preparation with lubricating properties designed to protect metal surfaces. It prevents rust deposits and metal oxidation. It has the consistency of hard butter. The product is odorless and insoluble in water. It is most commonly used in automotive and industrial applications.

Technical vaseline comes in various melting points and acidity levels (higher quality products have low acidity levels). It is available in different forms (tubes, cans with lids, cans with screw caps, sprays) and weights (e.g. 50g technical vaseline, 60g technical vaseline).

Technical Vaseline - application

Technical vaseline has a very wide range of applications. It has very good lubricating properties. It can be used as a lubricating medium in household appliances such as blenders, mixers, or food processors. Check out the various applications where technical vaseline proves to be useful:

Protection against drying out

Technical vaseline and rubber
Technical vaseline for rubber is resistant to UV rays, protecting the rubber from drying out, crumbling, and discoloration.

Technical vaseline and skin/plastics
The product is also intended for greasing leather goods and plastic products, protecting them from drying out and cracking.

Protection against freezing
The product is often used by car owners to lubricate door and trunk seals. Technical vaseline for seals is used as protection against freezing and sticking. It effectively protects locks and padlocks as well.

Protection of electrical contacts
Technical vaseline protects electrical contacts from corrosion and moisture. It is used to lubricate battery terminals, screw connections, guides. For protecting electrical connections, non-acidic or low-acid technical vaseline is recommended.

Protection of metal elements
The application of technical vaseline protects metal parts exposed to adverse weather conditions and moisture, shielding them from rust and corrosion (e.g. in lawnmower blades).

Who can benefit from technical vaseline?

Technical petroleum jelly is a versatile lubricating and protective agent that finds application in many industries. Mechanics and technical services use it for lubricating hinges, locks, threads, and moving parts, preventing corrosion and premature wear. In electronics and electrical engineering, it protects contacts from oxidation and insulates wires from moisture.

It is also essential for DIY enthusiasts and home users – it is perfect for lubricating rubber seals, preventing them from drying out and cracking. In the automotive industry, it is used to protect battery terminals and components exposed to atmospheric conditions. Thanks to its high temperature resistance and waterproof properties, technical petroleum jelly is a universal solution for anyone looking to extend the lifespan of technical components.
