Rubber Tile Installation Guide
Rubber flooring tiles – safe, durable and easy to install
Rubber floor tiles are a popular choice for gyms, garages, basements and playgrounds. Their interlocking design makes installation simple. They offer excellent impact resistance, thermal and sound insulation, and a non-slip surface ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.
How to install rubber flooring?
Step 1: Tools and materials
-
Rubber granulate tiles (choose thickness and size)
-
Measuring tape
-
Sharp utility knife
-
Rubber mallet
-
Straight edge for cutting
-
Safety gear (knee pads, gloves)
Step 2: Prepare the surface
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust, oil or wax. For outdoor use, secure the edges with rubber borders. A concrete base with slight slope is recommended for water drainage. Minor surface irregularities are acceptable.
Step 3: Installation
Let the tiles acclimate to room temperature. Start from the center of the room or the most visible edge. Use chalk or laser lines to guide placement. Place the first tile at the intersection, then connect the rest in a consistent pattern. Cut border tiles as needed, leaving a small expansion gap.
Step 4: Finish
Clean the surface. The floor is now ready for use.
