How are B-type oil seals constructed?
Type B simmering seals are single-lip rotary shaft seals that do not have an additional dust lip. Their construction consists of a metal frame, providing stability, and an elastomeric sealing lip pressed against the shaft by a spring. This design effectively prevents oil and grease leaks but does not protect against external contaminants. They are mainly used in lubrication systems of engines, pumps, and gearboxes, where the risk of external contamination is low.
